You appear to be missing a necessary module. Your tuner module is not
being loaded because you do not have the required i2c modules loaded.
These are normally provided by being compiled into the kernel in recent
versions (2.6.11+ at least). Check the .config file ( in /usr/src/linux??
in gentoo??) to see whether the module was included or not.

If not, you will need to get it and install it.
