With 2.6.11, try upgrading/reinstalling udev and/or hotplug and if that 
doesn't work, Google for udev--you'll probably have to edit your scripts 
because they're not creating the devices for you.  Of course, that 
assumes that you have all the appropriate DVB kernel drivers installed 
for the current kernel (not having them would mean you don't get the 
device nodes even with a working udev/hotplug install)...
