I've never tried it, but I can't think of any reason it shoudn't work,
especially if you have a hardware RAID controller. When you have hardware
raid, the OS sees each set as a partition. I've never epxanded an array on
a Linux box w/LVM, but I have done so on a Novell box and it worked
flawlessly (about 5 years ago on Novell 4.11... added another disk and
allocated the additional storage space all without ever rebooting :)
