I'm not doing anything differently than I did when I had 2.6.12.  This 
also occurs when I try to use the remote to enter text in a tty so its 
not "just" an X problem.  There may be some system wide setting I can 
tweak or perhaps its time to go do a bit of kernel hacking and fix the 
module
