You'd be aquiring the video in digital form through firewire, so you
wouldn't need a capture card.  The capture card converts the analog
signal to digital, and you won't need to do that.  Any manipulation of
the digital stream would be done by software/mythtv.  Since mythtv
doesn't advertise support for the SA8300's firewire output, you just
have to hope that its the same as the SA3250 - which myth does
support.

In my case, the firewire port was not active, so I'm capturing the
video through the s-video out, using the USB Plextor ConvertX.  The
quality of the video over firewire should be much better.
