There is nothing to it.
Just copy the ivtvdev_drv.o from John in to the directory.
see previous message from John Harvey, which includes the correct
ivtvdev_drv.o. Latest version is 0.10.1
Please be aware to install the latest ivtv 0.3.5f drivers from Chris.
see otherwise your xorg.log for error details.
