[mythtv-users] OT: IR wired extenders

Since you apparently have network cable in the bedroom, I'm surprised nobody 
mentioned using the MediaMVP. It is <$100. 

That being said, I don't have any direct experience with it (although I've 
been assuming I would go this route at some point to address the exact same 
issue). Is there some reason a MediaMVP won't work? My understanding is that 
there is an open source replacement for the onboard software that understand 
MythTV (http://mvpmc.sourceforge.net/idx.php?pg=screenshots).

Please tell me know if there is something wrong with this solution...it may 
be my Father's Day gift. :-)
