No need to put the PVR in a Windows box. Just copy a recorded video
that has bad spots over to any other computer (could be Windows or could
be another Linux box). We just need to test playback. It's quite
possibly that incorrect Xv picture adjustments could cause some pictures
(with lots of white) to look bad and others (with very little white) to
