[mythtv-users] OT: How to convert Xvid to DVD mpeg2

This one's for the archives...

After banging my head against the wall for a while, I believe I have
figured out a simple way to convert an avi file (xvid in this case)
into an mpeg2 file that I can burn to a DVD. I also tried doing this
in avidemux, with no success. I suspect the command below would also
work with a divx file.

Here's what I've got:

ffmpeg -i original.avi -target dvd dvd.mpg 

Hope that helps anyone else who's trying to figure this out.
