I already have an HD monitor (30" LCD) and cable box, so I know what it looks
like. I've watched a handful of shows with it (most recently, the final
episode of JAG) and the image quality is better, but not so much better that
it's worth waiting through ads (and spending ~50% more time glued to the tube
as a result) to get it.

I was figuring on getting a tuner of some sort at some point to put in my
MythTV box. My remark was mostly in the vein of "now I'm not under the gun to
get one in the next two months or I'm screwed." :-)
