[mythtv-users] weird menu behavior after RH9 -> fc3 cd upgrade

Yesterday I decided to upgrade my myth box from redhat 9 to fedora 3.
I was partially following Jarod's guide. My system has two drives with
LVM so I didn't want to do a fresh install, so after upgrading with
cd's, I used apt-get and synaptic for most of the package upgrades. I
didn't do the dist-upgrade because all of the rpm servers were slow
last night and "I was in a hurry" (famous last words). Using synaptic
I upgraded everything but packages that I don't use like printer
drivers, and other things not needed on a media center. All broken
packages were fixed and myth runs, mostly.

I use cvs, updating every 3-4 weeks. I followed Jarod's guide, with the
exception of installing myth-suite. I installed the kernel, nvidia,
alsa, ivtv, and lirc using apt-get. I didn't install the myth-suite
since I already use cvs and already updated the packages necessary for
cvs.

Now for the weird part, at least to me. I can navigate most menus,
including playing recorded shows, music, epg, live tv, however, I can't
get past the first page of any of the setup screens. The (Next) button
will be highlighted, and looks like it was activated, but nothing
happens. I can (escape) out of the menu screen but neither space or
return on the keyboard work. I haven't gotten the remote working again
either but less of an issue right now. I can navigate to "Upcoming
Recordings" and select a show, but none of the buttons do anything.
Some of the settings screens are larger than others and I can only see
the tops of the next, cancel, and prev buttons.

I've looked at logs for the backend, frontend, and messages. None of
them show any new messages when I'm trying to use these menus. cvs
built using make dist-clean, qmake, make, make install

Any suggestions that would fix or help me debug this would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Vinton
