[mythtv-users] Do you have to have a remote control to use Xbox
MythTV?

The XBox port of MythTV requires either the remote
control/dongle, or a keyboard hooked up to the XBox.
I have both, from when I was using the XBox as a
front-end, but don't use it anymore.
MythTV ignores the mouse, so there's no pointer on the
screen that you could use to click on the buttons and
such.
If you get the Microsoft DVD dongle, then you don't
have to use the Microsoft remote, I successfully used
an One For All URC-6131 universal remote control with
it, which gave me many more buttons to use (with some
hacking of the lircd.conf file).
If you're interested in the keyboard route, I bought a
keyboard that was designed for the XBox. I think it's
called the SharkBoard, and it works with the PS2,
GameCube, XBox and PC. The XBox connector is a
regular USB adaptor that plugs into the XBox
controllers memory card slot. Cost was $20.
