well, one is divx, the other is xvid.  They're both essentially the same 
thing, afaik, but xvid is "more open" (and sometimes less compatible 
with hardware players).

Old reports.  transcode no longer works properly with many mpeg2 files,
so we've switched to ffmpeg (by default -- transcode and mencoder are 
both available if you want to use them), which does divx.
