[mythtv-users] Simple video tests are failing -- what other
tests are helpful?

It doesn't sound like your /dev/video* devices are set up. You can check:
ls -l /dev/video0
Mine looks like:
mythos:~# ls -l /dev/video0
crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 0 Mar 13 15:38 /dev/video0
After a quick search, I couldn't find the corresponding bit of the official
docs, but thsi is from my personal install notes:

Run 'source /usr/src/linux-2.4.22/Documentation/video4linux/bttv/MAKEDEV'
or similar to get the /dev/video* devices set up. The
ivtv install supposedly takes care of this, but no dice for me.
