[mythtv-users] PVR-350 TV out problem

For the past couple of weeks I have been getting my first mythtv system
up and running.  Jarod's guide has been very good so far and I have good
recordings, schedules, working going to the computer monitor.


System specs:

ASUS P5GD2 deluxe, 3.6GHz P4, 2GB ram, Hauppauge PVR-350, FC3 using
ATRPMS mythsuite

This weekend I picked up the S-video and other cables to connect the
PVR-350 directly to the TV.  

Following the guide I ran the following test:

modprobe saa7127

This results in the TV having evenly spaced horizontal lines over the
entire screen.

modprobe saa7127 test_image=1

does the same thing.  I do not see the expected test image on the
display.

If I run the following test:

dd if=/dev/video0 of=/dev/video16 bs=64k

I get picture and sound to the TV but the horizontal lines are
overlaying the picture.  You can see the show between the lines.

I searched back through the mailing list and found what sounded like
similar problems.  But changing the width options did not seem to make
any difference.

So which step in the guide did I miss?  Trying to get the system
prepared for the family room.  At a minimum I need to get the video out
working to the TV.  Other problems can wait (need to get DMA working on
the DVD drive and get the system to recognize when a DVD is put in the
drive, but that is for another time.)
