[mythtv-users] Myth and DirecTV: The Saga Continues

Okay, here's the latest.

I am running myth tv via a DirecTV setup.  The coax goes to my DTV
receiver, then I have S-video out to the myth tv box.  The input in
question is S-Video 0; with this input established, I am able to watch
Live TV from frontend.

The problem is coming in when I am attempting to test recording.  I do
not have lirc properly set up at this point; as you may know, it
requires a serial cable and some finagling to enable channel changing
on the mtv boxes that have a DirecTV feed.

When I go to the channel currently selected on my DirecTV box in the
Myth TV Guide, I tell it to record, let it go for a bit, and when I
switch to view that video from the media library, it comes out
staticky and attempts to play back on _tuner 0_.
 
Is this recording failing due to the channel changing issues?  Or is
there something else going on?

Please, mythtvers, help!
