While there's a possibility it might work if you forced it, there are
preventive measures in place to keep people from doing that very thing,
because its a Bad Idea to try using kernel modules from one kernel with a
different kernel. You should only use kernel modules built for your kernel,
given the different ways in which a kernel can be built. For example,
modifying the stack sizes is a fairly major change. Building and installing
the ivtv driver from source specifically for any given kernel is trivial
though.
