Ok download it, moved it to /usr/local and uncompressed it.

read the option for install and decided that compiling it against
several drivers would be wise. but then i ran into the following
problem with the PATH

see below

  --enable-drivers=<list> compile driver for LCDs in <list>.
                          drivers may be separated with commas.
                          Possible choices are:
                          "all" compiles all drivers
