For the sake of example, I'll assume your installing an RPM:

# rpm -i packagename

I suggest reading the man page for RPM:

$ man rpm

I also suggest using Google for things like this:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=install+rpm&btnG=Google+Search
