I am including the patch that is applied to mplayer with +mythtv in your use
flags in Gentoo. It might or might not help.
Also please note that Gentoo uses mplayer-1.0_pre6-r4 in the x86 branch.
Pre7 is not considered tested enough or stable enough yet. From you're
excerpt you are using pre4.
Recommendations are to get pre6 patch it with the included file and then
trying to watch the nuv. Can't make any promises it will play.
