It uses LCDProc, which supports graphical displays. However, in the
current version of Myth, you only get text output. (Well, I guess,
technically, progress bars are graphical.)

For live and recorded TV, it displays the current TV channel name,
and program and episode name (scrolling). For Music, it shows the
song/artist and has a progress bar showing the time left in the song.
I haven't used it with Video, but I'm sure it must be pretty similar.

When not actively showing any video, it puts a clock in the VFD. It
can also indicate where you are in Myth's menu structure. (I only
have a 2-line display, so there might be more info on larger
displays.)

Overall, I really like the feature, and it works almost perfectly. (I
have to submit a patch one of these days, because my display likes to
show an extra L-shaped progress-bar remnant when I watch live TV.)

You have to download the CVS version and build it yourself, with the
LCD option enabled.
