This is with the "latest" nuvexport ebuild available on Gentoo:

media-tv/nuvexport-0.2_pre20050123-r1  

And with lve (for lvemux): 

media-video/lve-040322

Export to DVD appears to work fine. mySQL access seems fine. Any ideas?
If you need more debugging info, please let me know how to generate it
in a form to be most useful to you.
