I can't answer this question, but my guess is no. The heuristics you
noticed in NuppelVideoPlayer are basically always used, AFAICT; if it's
read from the stream, it's not passed through.
I can think of three suggestions:
* Continue trying to find a way to detect interlaced frames from the
video, and cause it to be passed all the way through the decoder. This
is probably the cleanest solution
* Come up with some other heuristic for your files and include it in
your version of NuppelVideoPlayer. Date-based, maybe? Or slightly
change the size of recordings you are making? Look 'em up in a flat
file on your disk? Not pretty, but expedient.
* Notice that 'bobdeint' is in the recording filter string and double
the encoder's framerate, much as is done in the videoout methods.
