Very much a "to each their own" type question.  If you've never done built a mythbox before, you might try FC3 first, and follow Jarod's guide for it.  He shows how to set up the various PVR-x50 cards, SoundBlaster card, Nvidia for TV-Out, as well as showing some HD stuff as well
