Chris,
Those same options here work for VLC. Do you see the --sout-transcode-fps in
'vlc -H'?
sh-2.05b# vlc -H | grep transcode-fps
VLC media player 0.8.1 Janus
--sout-transcode-fps <float>
Also please run 'vlc -vvv' and send me your ./configure options.
[00000000] main root debug: VLC media player - version 0.8.1 Janus - (c)
1996-2004 VideoLAN
[00000000] main root debug: libvlc was configured with ./configure
--disable-x11 --disable-xvideo --disable-gtk --disable-sdl --enable-ffmpeg
--with-ffmpeg-mp3lame --with-ffmpeg-zlib --enable-mad --enable-libdvbpsi
--enable-a52 --disable-dvdplay --enable-dvdnav --enable-vorbis --enable-ogg
--enable-theora --enable-mkv --enable-freetype --disable-cddax
--disable-vcdx --enable-speex --enable-flac --enable-goom
--enable-livedotcom --enable-caca --disable-skins2 --enable-modplug
--enable-debug --enable-gpl --enable-mp3lame --enable-pp
--with-ffmpeg-tree=/root/ffmpeg-20041208/
Try the binary distro of vlc 0.8.1 it may just work. :)
At worst you could just remove the FPS from the script if you can't get it
working.

Well, I've had some difficulty builfing vlc with ffmpeg (the ffmpeg codec)
but
I think i have it straightend out...I did the install on my knopmyth R4V5
(based on Myth 16.1
the script now yields the following error:
sh-2.05b$ /myth/stream/mythstreamtv.sh 'WMV2' 'mp3' '500' '64' '1' '30'
'1064_20
050113040000_20050113043000.nuv'
Starting Stream of 1064_20050113040000_20050113043000.nuv
VLC media player 0.8.1 Janus
vlc: unknown option `--sout-transcode-fps=30'
Try `vlc --help' for more information.
any Idea where I went wrong?
Thanx.
T
