why?  they will be extremely silent.  they have the same harddrives
that are in the Apple notebooks.

high end is a 1.4GHz G4 processor. i believe Apple requires a G5 for
Final Cut HD to run...  i'm not sure if the G4 has enough oomph to
handle this.
i've been meaning to ask a similar question; 'anybody using a PPC
(either Linux or OS X) for a front end or back end?'
