[mythtv-users] Starting up mythfrontend automatically?

Hello all,

Am using Debian Stable (Sarge) with MythTV from SVN. Trying to start up
mythfrotnend automatically on a frontend. Was using GDM (for autologin)
and Windowmaker. After faffing around and breaking a lot of things and
fixing them - I decided to RTFM(!) the mythtv's own docs rather than
using GDM/Windowmaker docs (even following their guide to the letter -
auto startup doesn't work annoyingly enough). Anyway, noticed that the
MythTV docs has instructions on startup for fvwm and blackbox, so
decided to install fvwm, followed the commands found here:

http://mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-23.html#ss23.11

to the letter, restarted GDM and logged in and fvwm just sat there doing
nothing, just showing a blue background - tho I could start xterm and
run the frontend manually. Prodded everything a few times, then decided
to kill GDM, use "startx" in terminal and lo, and behold, mythfrontend
starts up automatically and quickly (better than using GDM I guess).
Restarting GDM and logging into fvwm using the same user doesn't work.

So, my question is how to start mythfrontend after GDM auto logs in? Or
if that's not possible or it's better/faster not to use GDM, how do I
get mythfrontend/fvwm to start up automatically at boot up without
having to log in and/or type in "mythfrontend" ?

Also is it possible to contribute to the mythtv docs, and if so, how?
Obviously the section in the mythtv docs in the URL I pasted above needs
expanding slightly! I'd be happy to contribute to docs.

Thanks very much for your help in advance.

Regards - Piers
