I upgraded from an AMD AthlonXP 2800 to an AMD Athlon64 3800+ X2  
(dual core) just to be able to play back HD content from my HD3000  
without having to use XvMC (which I never got working right).  It  
takes some beef to watch Conan in 1080i and resize it down to my 720p  
output.
