You need to change the setting "use xv picture settings" in TV Settings to
true.

Subject: Blue faces and xvattr -a XV_HUE - (was Re: [mythtv-users] No
videoplayback - LiveTV or recordings)

Thanks again Nick!

On your suggestion I used xvattr to look at all the settings and noticed
XV_HUE was set to -1000
in a range of -1000 to 1000.
I thought that sounded like the most relevant and most suspicious of the
settings, so I changed it
to 0.
Immediately the DVD I was playing in the background in Kaffeine looked
'right' - blue faces were
no longer.

Thinking this had solved my woes I closed Kaffeine, fired up mythfrontend
and started trying to
watch Live TV.

The blue faces were back! I alt-tabbed over to a terminal session and
checked xvattr -a XV_HUE and
it was set back to -1000.
I set XV_HUE back to 0 while the show was still playing and again colors
returned to normal.

Getting suspicious I stopped watching Live TV, went back to the mythtv menu,
then restarted
watching Live TV. Blue faces again.

If I change XV_HUE while on the main menu, then go to Live TV via the TV
guide I get blue faces.
If I wait to change XV_HUE until I'm on the TV guide page, then color is
good when I get to
LiveTV.
Suggests to me that XV_HUE is being changed on the transition from the main
menu (no video
overlay) to the TV guide (includes video overlay in the preview windows.)

I should also note that the TV guide page colours also look sick when the
XV_HUE is wrong.

I'll keep poking around, but any input appreciated.
