irrecord does not get any input... below is the output  it complains
of "gap not found"??

I setup udev by patching /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit as recommended at:
http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php#lirc

Still have the same behavior, still puzzled.
