You're mixing apples and oranges.  The recordings are in MPEG4 (DIVX or 
XVID, i can't remember) inside an NUV container.  You can't just 
"recontain" a video so you have to re-encode it to another container 
(which is what nuvexport does).  nuvexport puts it inside an AVI container.
