I disagree
I am using a framebuffer with nvidia's drivers on my gentoo machine. I
am using gensplash (http://dev.gentoo.org/~spock/projects/gensplash/) to
provide the splash image.
My kernel boot line is:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.11-gentoo-r6-chris-5 root=/dev/hda2
video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr,800x600-32 at 60 splash=silent,theme:mythtv
I have compiled vesa-tng into my kernel for framebuffer, and have NOT
selected "Bootup Logo"
Sorry I can't help the original poster - I do not see the problem he is
describing.
Chris
