[mythtv-users] Segmentation fault starting "mythtv"

Why are you running "mythtv"?  It is my understanding
that you should be running, "mythfrontend", and not
"mythtv".

The reason /dev/nvidia0 is being checked is because
it's trying to use OpenGL Vsync (which to my knowledge
is only guaranteed to work with nVidia cards).  Go
into mythfrontend, and disable this option (it's under
the Hardware page, along with the PVR-350 and XvMC
settings).

There should be no need to recompile.
