Ah gentoo - that makes it easy.
Remove the "nvidia" use flag in /etc/make.conf.
Then do the emerge again (emerge mythtv).
That should solve your problem.

PS. If Nvidia flag isn't present use -nvidia to be sure its off

Thanks for the advice. Now I have to try and figure out how to
"rebuild" the ebuild package since I used Gentoo's "emerge mythtv"
command.
