The Xbox version of mythfrontend uses python to control myth, you can find it a sourceforge

Interesting, I hadn't seen MythWifi yet.  I think there was also some 
work done on a Python interface to the Myth protocol that could easiliy 
be adapted to this use as well.  Probably an archive search would turn 
that up.
