[mythtv-users] Myth menus are not displayed properly

Hi,
I am trying to run mythtv application on a minimal filesystem that I
have created .But on running mythfrontend, the menus are not displayed
properly. Instead of the charecters, only square boxes gets displayed.
But the pictures on the right side of the screen and the background
(for GANT) gets displayed properly. SInce i have installed only a
limited no: of packages I am not sure I have missed some packges
specific to the display of the charecters for the mythtv  menu. Has
anyone faced such a problem.
Could someone help me to resolve this problem.
