That's an interesting thread but it doesn't address the AVX1 processor they
have. Apparently, from what I can find, the firewire stream coming out of
the STB is not real standard but if the AVX1 converts it to a standard
stream so that DVHS and other decks can record it, then I'm wondering if the
.18 would understand it.

PC is used for recording, the AVX1 processor is still needed to perform the
task of making the data stream compatible with recording and playback
systems."
They also list standard equipment that supposedly can read it so I'm
wondering if that thread is a bit outdated.
