[mythtv-users] why the avermedia m179 has such crappy reception with mythtv

Yesterday when moving my mythtv computer from the living room, I noticed 
something odd, the coax screw on connectors for the tuner are actually not 
phyically mated to the tuner module. They pull right off to reveal an RCA 
type plug in the other side. Jiggling with the connector can make a big 
difference in terms of the picture quality and whether you get a picture at 
all.

Seems a bit of a strange design as every other tuner card I've seen (in the 
past 10 years, I've probably owned easily 2-3 dozen such cards) has the coax 
connector firmly mated to the tuner module itself.
