[mythtv-users] Timezone issues - I thought I tried everything

Hi All,

I have searched the list and found numerous people who have fought timezone
issues, but I have yet to figure mine out. I'm in the America/New_York
timezone and we just had our daylight savings "spring forward".

I've verified and checked various things.

If I type "date" at the command prompt, I see:
Sun Apr 17 16:41:07 EDT 2005

My KDE desktop also says the same time in the lower-right.

If I run mysql and so "SELECT NOW();" I get:
2005-04-17 16:41:43

So, that's consistent too. If I ls -l /etc/localtime (this is a Gentoo
system) I get:
/etc/localtime -> /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/New_York

So, that's right too.

BUT no matter whether I choose "Auto", "None" or +/- anything for the
timezone offset in mythsetup, I get the same thing in my program guide. All
the shows start 1 hour early. Fox News at 5 starts at 4pm.

I keep deleting the data in my program table (just data on or after
yesterday) and re-running mythfilldatabase with the various options, and I
keep getting the same thing. Leads me to believe that the offset setting in
mythsetup isn't doing anything, but I don't have a lot of visibility into
what's going on.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can further troubleshoot?

Thanks!
Tom
