I am routinely advising customers to drop FC2 in favour of FC3. It may 
not fix the booting problem directly (although I suspect it might), but 
it will put you in a better position to do so :) FC3 does a much better 
job of devices and other low level bits than does FC2. FC3 is also a 
better match for atrpms than FC2 which is a VERY good thing WRT mythtv.
