Yes, sorry, I forgot to mention that. I did a dist-upgrade after the
initial install of the kickstart package, and again after installing
the config package.

Great, I'll give it a shot.
shooting....
update is working perfectly.
dist-upgrade is going to pull down about 100 more packages now.
