And in the poor taste of replying to my own posting - 

I imagine it's worse in the fall when there's ambiguity. At least now
there is no 2am -> 3am hour. Imagine the horrors of trying to program
a schedule when there are TWO 2am -> 3am hours. Would it record a show
twice? How can you pick which 2am slot to actually record?

I guess another good question is how accurate the listings are for
these strange cases. Do the TV stations really make sure that they
list the correct 2am infomercial twice? :-P
