[mythtv-users] Re: Remote frontend stalls on recorded progs only?

I have more info in the hope that someone can help me
out with my original post. Summary: I am seeing
playback pauses on my remote frontend that I do not
see when I playback on my master backend. I only see
the pauses during playback of recorded programs, not
when watching Live TV.

I ran mythfrontend --verbose and logged the results to
a text file. I am seeing this, which seems to
correlate to when the pauses hit:

2004-10-12 21:34:19 audio thread waiting for buffer to
fill fragment_size=4096, audiolen=0
(a bunch of those, then)
2004-10-12 21:34:19 prebuffering pause
2004-10-12 21:34:19 waiting for prebuffer...
2004-10-12 21:34:19 waiting for space to write 1024
zeros on soundcard which has 1600 bytes free
2004-10-12 21:34:19 prebuffer wait timed out..
2004-10-12 21:34:19 waiting for prebuffer...
2004-10-12 21:34:19 waiting for space to write 1024
zeros on soundcard which has 1280 bytes free
(a bunch more of those, then it finally gets caught
up, apparently)

I've searched for "prebuffering pause" and I don't
think I have the option of running mythfrontend at a
negative nice level (I am using KnoppMyth R4V5 and it
sets up mythfrontend to be run by the mythtv user).

Anything else I can do? And again, why only recorded
programs? Why not live TV?

Thanks for _any_ help whatsoever. The WAF will drop
dramatically if I introduce our pretty new remote
frontend and it does one of these multi-second freezes.
