Can't help much, but thought I'd share some info that may or may not be
insightful. Even in 64-bit mode, you're not getting very good
performance. I regularly see 30% idle on an Athlon XP 3200, so I'd
expect to see a helluva lot more idle time on a dual Opteron. I plan to
try HDTV playback on a dual Athlon MP 2000 system here shortly, I'm
wondering how it'll stack up...
