Actually, I checked the log again and I found the following:

2004-10-01 23:00:00 Started Commercial Flagging for "Whose Line Is It
Anyway?" recorded from channel 1147 at Fri Oct 1 22:30:00 2004
2004-10-01 23:00:04 Scheduled 194 items in 4.01154 seconds.
[mpeg2video @ 0x36ef0d0]ac-tex damaged at 21 8
[mpeg2video @ 0x36ef0d0]Warning MVs not available

as well as:

2004-10-01 23:51:32 Scheduled 194 items in 0.809191 seconds.
Bad transcoding info

Can someone shed some light on what those might mean? It also turns out
that I was using a somewhat old transcode package since apt-get was able
to install a new one this afternoon...
