I've followed the instructions in this email (in combination with those
at
http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=21910&group_id=102048)
to set up the hw decoding on my epia m10k and everthing installed
correctly, I thought. However, everytime I attempt to decode an mpeg2
stream on the m10k, mythfrontend dies a horrible death with the
following complaint:
2004-09-30 22:21:26 Changing from None to WatchingRecording
2004-09-30 22:21:26 Using realtime priority.

mythfrontend: xvmcvideo.c:204: render_state: Assertion
`render->mv_blocks' failed.
I think that the via module is loaded correctly, dmesg reports:
[drm] Initialized via 1.5.0 20040907 on minor 0: VIA Technologies, Inc.
VT8623 [Apollo CLE266] integrated CastleRock graphics
[drm] Used old pci detect: framebuffer loaded
And I see the folloing in my Xorg.0.log file:
(II) VIA(0): [XvMC] Initialized XvMC extension.
There is a section in the document linked to above, "Checking out and
testing the hw mpeg2 player." which I haven't been able to do as the
mp2decoder configure script complains:
configure: error: Could not find XvMC wrapper library.
I haven't been able to find much on this 'wrapper' layer. I suspect
this might be newer stuff and am thinking about trying to check out an
earlier set of the mp2decoder code.
Anyhow, I'm hoping someone might have a tip as to what might be causing
my mythfrontend problem.
