I had exactly the same problem with a TDA10045H based Nova-T. After
much messing about it turned out to be a duff card, it would seemingly
tune (would get all of the correct responses from tzap) but would
never send any data.

I would suggest trying the card under windows and if possible in
another computer. If you get the same result in both of these cases
then get the card replaced!
