 I have had some sound issues although I am running a totally
different board it has onboard vt82xx sound on it and I often loose
sound, especially after power outages it will report the card is
missing, then I just
#modprobe snd-vt82xx 
and it returns and restart MythTV and works

my other sound issue has been occassional, I will start MythTV and it
will tell me that the device is busy I and no matter how many retries
I cannot play, if I go into console and do
 $ aplay /dev/dsp1 
(tv tuner) which plays then hit control-c to stop it, then go into myth it plays
 dont know if that helps or is totally off topic
