Time for new release. was Re: [mythtv-users] Re: Crash watching LiveTV or Recording

Maybe it's time to put out a .17 or 16.1 release?

I have been reading threads now recommending that people go to CVS due 
to bugs in .16. People upgrading to 16 ( gentoo posting today ) where 
users are going back to 15 etc.....
That would indicate, to me anyway, that cvs has moved far enough ahead 
( feature or fix ) that cvs is preferable to the release version.
This situation will lead to some issues that will be seen in the lists. 
Users having issues ( noob ) building from cvs ( that is why Jarods 
guide is so popular ), people sticking with 16 and having the same 
issues re-hashed and not getting the experience they should from this 
awesome software, or down-grade to 15.

Am I wrong here?  I am not griping, just making an observation and an 
opinion.

Thoughts?
