[mythtv-users] Importing recordings from old database

I have a nice shiny new debian system that I want to
import *parts* of my old (fedora) saved database to.
Is it possible to just import the recorded programs
and their cutlists into the new database without over
writing bits like channel settings etc?
I have tried to import the whole database but
mythbackend refused to work properly.
Hence there's something a bit screwy the old one.
